Mac App Store download stuck
If the Mac App Store shows the circular download indicator for an app and then stops and returns to the Get / download button, it’s often caused by a stuck App Store session. Signing out and signing back in refreshes your purchase state and usually fixes it.
- Open the App Store on your Mac.
- In the macOS menu bar, click Store → Sign Out.
- Quit the App Store completely (App Store → Quit App Store), then reopen it.
- Search for the app again and click Get / the download button.
- When prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and try the download again.
If it still doesn’t download, restart your Mac and repeat the steps above.
